GliTcH 2010-2011

My new work evolves past the surface and cosmetic changes and includes a re-assignment piece due to the nature of the process of glitching. This process allows a digital photographer to break an image in a random way. This process creates a digital artifact. Therefore the idea of making a new me in the original digital images becomes layered in a random identity reassignment via the computer. Since my images are Jpeg based they will also change over time due to the nature of the digital format. JPEGs lose quality every time they are opened, edited and saved. Therefore the digital images will change just like humans. The images are printed at the time of exhibition and therefore a snapshot of the Glitched Jpeg Identity at the moment of printing.
